Isserlis plays a 'trench cello' (W.E. Hill and Sons cello) on this BBC programme. ...
True John, but I'm pretty fond of the Ticciati set and also enjoy significant parts of Dausgaard's and Foster's (though the Pentatone engineers didn't entirely succeed in ...
This early ECM release (ECM 1009) was recorded 11, 12 and 13 January 1971 at Tonstudio Bauer by engineer Kurt Rapp. Audio recording and the studio's piano are much ...
An excellent recording with the Violin Concerto as the stand out piece played superbly by Sergei Levitin. It is a lusciously romantic work that will captivate the hearts of ...

This title is part of an ECM series of 6 titles (so far) issued by the Japanese retailer Tower Records. As such it is only available from Tower Records.......and they don't ship internationally.
Help is at hand though. CD Japan has a proxy shopping arrangement available ($34ish USD + additional handling costs) and the first 3 titles are also on the Acoustic Sounds Site. Whether this collaboration between Tower Records/Universal Japan/ECM remains exclusive or is time limited is unknown to me.
Being from the ECM stable the packaging remains typically understated. Nothing shiny here.
The liner notes state - "DSD remastered by Christoph Stickel, 01/2017"
And what a excellent job he has done. It was beautifully recorded in the first instance and it sounds like the tapes have remained in great condition. It feels like you have a better than front row seat at the actual concert when listening to it. Compression also remains minimal. One notch up on the original vinyl.
ECM has a very deep catalogue of excellent titles. Here's hoping there will be many more.
