Acoustic Sounds lists this about the mastering.

Carefully selected master audio is used, from existing DSD files to newly converted from analog tapes.

I can't find out any more info about the mastering.

This information is as misleading as it is translation-incoherent. My understanding is that the 16 or 17 Blue Notes Universal Japan released on SACD in late 2017 were all derived from earlier 24/192 transfers done by Alan Yoshida (or some by Bernie Grundman?) around 2013, which are available as downloads in the West, and which in many cases were released as SHM-CDs. The really annoying thing is that most or all of these same titles had just been newly DSD transferred/mastered by Robert Vosgien for Universal Japan, who released them as DSD downloads in November-December 2017. You might have thought that these new masters would also be used for the SACDs, and Universal Japan did nothing to clarify the situation. For example, CD Japan's description in English says "Reissue in SHM-SACD format with DSD mastering," but when you translate the Japanese description you get "SACD-SHM specification recurrence. The latest DSD master of Blue Note!" By now we've come to understand that "latest" in this context is generally meaningless, and "DSD master" is not referring to the transfer but to the Japanese mastering for SACD; the important word turns out to be "reissue."

Anyway you can find these DSD downloads on E-Onkyo and Mora's websites, but they have never been made available outside of Japan and AFAIK can't be ordered from outside Japan. I've heard that UMG is finally planning to release them in North America, but the anticipated release gets put off. However, the 2020 Hi-Res CD (MQA x UHQCD) does use the 2017 DSD master and decodes up to DXD; it's sold out at CD Japan but might still be available from HMV, and Tower is showing "low stock."

Btw Soul Station is a stereo recording and I do not see any indication that this SACD is mono, in fact the Discogs listing says stereo.

For a more complete rundown on these Blue Note SACDs see my comments on the 2017 Blue Train SACD (which WAS sourced from Vosgien's DSD transfer):

I had forgotten though that some of these Vosgien transfers were available for a time from Acoustic Sounds. I'd be really interested to hear from anyone who has any of these downloads. Do you think they improve on the SACDs?

"the 2020 Hi-Res CD (MQA x UHQCD) does use the 2017 DSD master and decodes up to DXD"

AFAIK MQA, even on a good day, does not decode to anything close to DXD.

I probably misunderstood the CD Japan description, which reads: "Features the DSD master in 2017, using US original master tapes. The DSD master is available in 352.8kHz/24bit high resolution (perfect for MQA-enabled audio players)."
