I believe this release is part of the newer re-masters of the Callas EMI catalogue completed by Warner Classics. These re-masters have caused quite a bit of controversy about whether this is really a worthwhile thing or whether they actually improve the sound. I generally think that a re-master is a good idea as long as it is faithful to the what the original engineers intended. Has anyone listened to any of these re-masters and any thoughts on this?
