The sound of BWV 147, recorded in the early 60's, is fabulous, demo-material for Bach lovers. The sound of BWV 140, recorded more than 15 years later, is not demo-material, but still much better than any other previous offering of this recording . And the chorale `Zion hört die Wächter singen' sung by Schreier with the strings of Richter's orchestra is a highlight! I highly recommend this single layer SACD for all those who love this type of `classical' Bach interpretation. To Universal Japan: please, release more Bach cantatas by Richter on single layer SACDs, starting with the recordings made in the 60's (for example BWV 65, 108, 55, 189).
