Unlike most of the re-releases by Esoteric, both the recording here are digital (Peer Gynt made in June 1982 & Holberg Suite made in November 1984) which means there weren’t physical master tapes for the remastering processes. Considering the recording dates, the original sample rates are most likely nothing more but the standard CD resolution at 16-bit / 44,1 kHz. It would be interesting to know how the remastering engineers have prepared the present DSD masters for SA-CD and is there any improvement over already released CDs.

Pointless to pay a high amount of money for only a bit modified audio quality that does not really enhance the listening experience.

Dissonance, I've already commented on this topic. If you like, look at Haydn/Brüggen (8 symphonies). As for Esoteric's recent releases: almost all of them contain digital recordings.
