After its release on BluRay 2 years ago (remastered by MSM Munich), Universal Japan offers a new remastering (by EBS) on 2 volumes of each 3 SHM-SACDs.
After listening and comparing some tracks of both versions (BD and SACD), I can say that the sound of the BluRay appears a bit anemic or pale against the SACD version. Especially the deeper frequencies (cello!) are more present on the SACD. Sound stage is also a bit broader.

Thank you for the review! I just received this in the mail. It seems fairly consistent that EBS's work for Japan is superior to what's being put out in Europe... I don't think I have been disappointed in a single Japanese SACD edition of a "dual release" title.

I just posted a comment on the Karajan Bruckner Blu-Ray page re Ted Libbey in TAS preferring it to the SACDs.
