This is one of the wildest Rites of Spring that's ever been recorded. Absolutely hair-raising, exciting, out of control - sometimes it feels like it's coming apart at the seams, and yet - it is perfectly shaped and paced by Hisaishi. The orchestra is on spectacular form too, playing for their lives. And the sound is rich, warm, full, bright. Just an absolute wallop upside the head... in a good way.
