I know and love the RBCD versions. Who has bought the SACD and is it worth it?

I haven't bought this one yet. However, I see there are already some reviews on Amazon Japan, Tower Records and HMV Japan. You might want to check out these sites. The reviews all seem to be very positive. (I say "seem" because I can't read Japanese so I have to rely on Google and its translations into some barely comprehensible form of English.)

To me, these are definitive Mahler interpretations presented in the best possible way. The transfer is incredible, the sound is very detailed, you feel as if you are there in the hall with the musicians. Obviously, these don't sound like recordings made in 2020, but if you like great analog, go for it, you won't be disappointed.

I have to say generally I think Sony transfers are about the best of any label remastering vintage recordings. I don't know if it's the superiority of the original recordings, the conditions they were stored in, or what... but I don't think I've heard a single Sony remaster/release that has not been superb.
