Mahler: Symphony No. 1

Festspielorchester 'Gustav Mahler Fest Kassel'
Adam Fischer, conductor

With the 'Gustav Mahler Fest Kassel', founded in 1989 by the then GMD Adam Fischer, the city received another internationally important cultural attraction in addition to the world art exhibition 'documenta'. The 1989 concert recording impressively documents the spirit of optimism of the participants, but also Fischer's achievement as an outstanding Mahler exegete of international standing.

By my count this is this is the 61st version of Titan issued on SACD. Time to call a halt surely?

Hi John,
This one isn't for you. Recorded in Concert 1989 during the first (of only three) Gustav Mahlerfest, Kassel, founded by Adam Fischer the local Music Director at that time and remastered for SACD. A memorial disc of sorts. Besides, the Res is not Hi enough for a machine like yours.

Thank you Adrian for the insight. Definitely not for me, the Mahler shelf is fully laden so one more disc might bring it crashing to the floor!
