This is an easy recommendation: sublime playing captured with fine recording technique. I bought this album because of Reger's clarinet quintet, his last (complete) composition - and because of the Utrecht string quartet. In this late work, Reger gets quite close to one of his beloved predecessors: Brahms. The autumnal, mellow and nostalgic mood of this music strongly reminds of Brahms' own late clarinet quintet op. 115. So, if you like the mature Brahms, you definetely should listen to this.

Btw: there are some other striking parallels looking at the final compositions of Reger and Brahms:

Brahms piano pieces opp. 116-119 Reger op. 143 ('Träume am Kamin'; 12 piano pieces)
