My love affair with the music of J.S. Bach began early and shows no sign of abating. Some of my earliest musical memories are of falling asleep to the Goldberg Variations (played by the great Canadian Glenn Gould, in perfect bookends to a remarkable life, and long before I had heard of ‘early music’), a piece which still receives copious airtime in my home.

I have this one, but I have the DSD256 files. It is wonderful. There is a review of the disc in the December 2023 Gramophone. It is an interesting review. The first mention is of the superb sound quality. Then there is mention of the superb playing and the accompanying harpsichords and clavichord. And the review is full of praise and reads like a review of an Editor's Choice selection. But this disc did not receive an Editor's Choice selection, which is a pity.
As I have listened I have been awed by the sound quality myself, the almost "You are there at the concert" sound. It is strikingly good.
These trprk recordings are very impressive.
