Unique period in American music in this, BMOP's 100th release. Sure, these works are a bit "of their time." That doesn't mean they're not worth hearing. The composer had ...

Released April 28, 2024, as a single disc SACD hybrid in a card sleeve. A bit surprisingly for a Japanese SACD release the disc is made/glass mastered by Sony DADC in Europe.
There is no indication of mastering provenance, and the Phonographic Copyright year is given as 2015. Whilst the Burning Shed UK website states it uses remastered material from 2010.
This edition also includes a "Collectors Edition" booklet as a separate item. This booklet was also used for an earlier 2015 Japanese two-disc SHM-CD release (VSCD4304/5) of the title, albeit with the bonus disk tracks removed from the back of the booklet.
The run times for these two releases are essentially the same - SACD 55.50 v's SHM-CD 55.52
Listened to back-to-back it is difficult to land on any real differences between them. Maybe the SHM-CD is ever so slightly brighter, but there sure isn't much in it.
So certainly, it's worth getting this new SACD version if you don't already have one of the earlier 2009 remastered CD versions. After that though positive differences are likely small.
