I understand it is taken from an original EMI recording, made shortly after Pollini won the 1960 Chopin Competition, but withdrawn as he didn’t approve it. However, in 2011 Pollina permitted Testament (CD ADD Stereo SBT 1473) to publish this version which is now remastered for SACD. I haven't heard it, not then and not now, but in any case the cover is nice.
