The duplication of releases is driving me nuts. Dutton did a superb transfer and release of these recordings just a few years ago. The vaults are not empty of things that have not seen the light of the day yet!

And the Dutton transfer also includes the original Quad tracks! On top of that the Sony reissues are expensive and hard to find. The same with Stravinsky: L'oiseau de feu, Le Sacre du printemps, Petrouchka - Boulez most of it already released by Dutton

I see that some people, perhaps driven by nostalgia (and willing to pay for it!), collect yesteryear's heroes. That's OK with me. However, isn’t it sad to observe that with every re-release of old material, often free of copyright, young and active talent is left behind? Without them, our future looks bleak. Hence, my plea: Invest in new (I refuse to believe that no newcomer can play Beethoven just as well or even better). This might also help extend our fragile ‘real’ SACD life span for a little longer.

I fully agree with Adrian Quanjer.
And wanted to add another suggestion to the other side, producer/labels: make more accessible (aka lower prices) all these classical music treasures for the younger generations.
It has two implications: - educational and also stimulates the rise of new young talented musicians.
