Interesting release from the archives. I believe Seiji Ozawa died last year so may be these are tribute albums. He was the BSO's longest serving chief conductor.

This is one of my favorite interpretations of Le Sacre (along with Bernstein's early one with the NY Phil, MTT's one with the BSO, and Salon's '07 one w/ the LA Phil) from the 20+ I own.
Incredibly dynamic and all-on!

Unfortunately while this SACD reissue has Fireworks and the Rite, Petrouchka is not included, and the whole thing clocks in at under 40 minutes. It makes no sense to me that Sony Classical would not include Ozawa's rendition of Petrouchka, included on the cd release, on this SACD release. A big disappointment there!

Unfortunately while this SACD reissue has Fireworks and the Rite, Petrouchka is not included, and the whole thing clocks in at under 40 minutes. It makes no sense to me that Sony Classical would not include Ozawa's top-tier rendition of Petrouchka, included on the cd release, on this SACD reissue. A big disappointment there!
