An unusual coupling. The 4th Symphony is unremarkable and uninspiring. Järvi's reading of these works is fairly conventional (in my view) offering littlle over the many recordings already on offer from the existing SACD repertory.
The Sony DSD recording is exemplary as we have come to expect, spacious and intricately detailed but not overly analytical. As good as it gets on SACD.
Much as I admire Järvi's work in both Leipzig and Tokyo, this is one recording that I cannot recommend despite it's obvious sonic qualities
