On Sept 17th TowerRecords is going to release Sanderling's complete Sibelius cycle (Berliner Sinfonieorchester, 1970-77) newly remastered (pure DSD transfer by Christoph Stickel, Wien) on 4 SACD: Berlin Classics x Tower Records 0302066BC

Thank for the heads up. Really don't know much about this cycle. No recollection of it being regarded as collectible.

Same here. I wasn't aware of Sanderling's recordings before - obviously a mistake! - His Mahler album (symphonies 9,10 & Song of the earth) is a new favorite of mine (received it a few weeks ago). I've already pre-ordered the Sibelius set, looking now for his Brahms cycle (Staatskapelle Dresden) on SACD.

Contrapunctus, Sanderling's Dresden Brahms cycle is absolutely spectacular. I think it's in the top 5 of Brahms cycles.

DYB, last week I finally received Sanderling's Dresden Brahms cycle on SACD. Indeed fabulous recordings. (Although the album seems to be sold out in most places including amazon and cdjapan, I was lucky enough to get it on jpc.) - And since Monday I have the new Tower Records SACD release of Sanderling's complete Sibelius cycle (Berlin Symphony Orchestra 1970-77) which I also enjoy.
