The SACD version is nowhere to be found. I ordered this version twice already (from o.a. Amazon). Although the picture showen on the websites was a SACD version, the disk sent was always the RDCD. No luck so far. My usual source for SACD is CDJapan, but they do not carry this item. None on Ebay. Who sells the SACD version?

JPC (link is above) lists it as a stereo/multichannel hybrid SACD. I've ordered from that site in the past, so it's a legit store. Worth trying (maybe contact them first to confirm).

Also (US store) shows an SACD cover and lists it as such, and it says they have 2 copies in stock.

Yep! This is a SACD. In my collection for many years. Cracking performance. Try e-Bay if you want another source, I have seen it listed a few times. There is one on there now.

JPC confirmed to me by mail that the disk they have in stock is actually not a SACD despite having listed multichannel playback as well as 2 channel. That information is not correct.

That is unfortunate. I guess eBay may be the safest (and only?) way to go at this point.

It sounds like they repressed the disc and forgot about the SACD layer. Something similar happened with Bychkov's disc of Rachmaninov (catalogue number PH07028). Hänssler Profil accidentally omitted the SACD layer when they reprinted it. You can read about the problem in the comments posted under that release.

Don't forget that a lot of recordings were dual inventory printed as CD & SACD. The SACD may be sold out. A simpler explanation.

Good point, Hiredfox! I dug around and, indeed, it seems BR Klassik originally produced two versions, an RBCD and a hybrid SACD. Perhaps they got their inventory mixed up. But it still is possible that the hybrid SACD version was reprinted at a later date but with the SACD layer accidentally omitted. Paul SA Renaud, did the discs you received have "SACD" printed on the back of the case?
