This disc is far superior to the Pentatone Pletnev recording, as are the other members of the Oehms/Kitajenko cycle. Be sure to avoid Pletnev, who can be heard humming with ...
I do not altogether disagree, but as far as I know, Ryan McKinny was a last-minute stand-in for the originally programmed German bass-baritone Hannno Müller-Brachmann. That ...
Hello.
I own both versions and I really feel that the Stereo Sound version trounces the Esoteric disc. I was very underwhelmed by the pcm sound of the latter while the former ...

Accomplished 5.1 mix.

Much, much better fidelity than my CD, which I found to be compressed and muffled.
As an example, on "Chain" the bass solo is so clear you can hear the bass strings vibrate.
I highly recommend it over the CD version.

In a direct comparison with the 45 rpm, it seems like this might have been from the same master tape. However, I don't think every song is from the same master tape. In the 45 rpm, at the beginning of Gold Dust Woman, you hear people yelling - like audience members. In the SACD, you don't hear those sounds.
