excellent Yes box set! Nice full sounding transfers. Some compression used but not bricked wall like some reissues. I do feel these are the best Stereoversions I have heard and with Steven Wilson announcing the next 5.1 (which will be Tales...) is the last yes 5.1 he is doing (well at least under his current contract. Who knows maybe the will expand the reissue program and get Wilson or someone do the albums up to big generator) but as it stands now it looks like this box set will be the only way ro get a lot of these albums in high res. I want to point one thing out and that's people posting the sound wave from this box set showing it overly compressed. They took that from the Red Book layer which is defiantly a different master then the ones they used for the SACD layer.
These are defiantly better sounding then any vinyl version I have heard (just an FYI if you like the sound of vinyl that's fine but then buy the vinyl. I am so tired of reading comments by people saying they don't like digital sound. If you are buying a formate that you want to sound like another formate don't buy the format you don't like. Buying a SACD and saying it doesn't sound like the vinyl is like ordering a steak dinner and then complaining it doesn't taste like chicken. Pick the format that sounds best to you. I personally tried getting back into vinyl about a year ago and found the experience horrible. I was very quickly reminded why I liked digital to begin with. Bad pressings, $70 albums, inner groove vibration at the start and finish of each side on ever record and don't forget those snaps and crackles. Sorry guys l don't mean to rip into vinyl fans (again like what you like who cares what someone else's says they are not listening to music with your ears).
Sorry for going off topic. As for the Yes SACD box set. It a 10 out of 10 but very pricey, but again I would like to point out there are no current plans to put all these out on Blu Ray so if you have the means and want hi res versions here's your chance!

Sorry spoke to soon. I have now listened to the whole box set and all the discs sound great except for two. Those being Close To The Edge and Relayer. Both these albums have distortion on them. If you listen to any version of the albums you can hear it but the mastering here makes it a little bit more obvoiuse. Still great box set but I wanted to point that out just so you had the info. It's a lot of money so it would be nice if you are sure you want it! For myself I am still very happy with the purchase. These records were recorded 40 years ago so there are naturally going to be limits to the sonics.
